§ 2-77. Elected officials.

  • (a)

    Village board. The village board shall consist of a village president and six trustees. The term of office of the president and trustees, hereafter elected, shall be three years and until their respective successors are duly elected and qualified, except as follows:

    (1)

    At the 2018 annual election the trustee receiving the highest number of votes shall be elected for a term of three years and the other two trustees shall be elected for a term of two years.

    (2)

    At the 2019 annual election the trustee receiving the lowest number of votes shall be elected for a term of two years, and the other two trustees shall be elected for a term of three years.

    (b)

    Municipal justice. The municipal justice shall be elected for a four-year term at the regular spring election in even-numbered years commencing in the spring election of 2012. The municipal court shall be under the jurisdiction of and presided over by a municipal judge who shall be a resident of the Village of Mukwonago. All candidates for the position of municipal judge shall be nominated by nomination papers as provided in W.S.A., § 8.11, and selection at primary election, if such is held as provided in W.S.A. § 8.11.
