§ 45-149. Sewage disposal facilities.

Latest version.
  • (a)

The subdivider shall construct sanitary sewerage facilities in such a manner as to make adequate sanitary sewerage service available to each lot within the subdivision. If public sewer facilities are not available, the subdivider shall make provision for adequate private sewage disposal systems to meet the Wisconsin Administrative Code and the Waukesha County Sanitary Ordinance.

    (b)

The village board shall require the installation of sewer mains to the farthest extent of the street lot line. If, at the time of final platting, sanitary sewer facilities are not available to the plat, but will become available within a period of three years from the date of plat recording, the subdivider shall install or cause to be installed sanitary sewers and sewer laterals to the street lot line. All sanitary sewers and laterals shall be constructed in accordance with the standard specifications adopted in the "Development Requirements: Sanitary Sewer, Watermain, and Storm Sewer" (including current updates) of the Village of Mukwonago. A copy of these standard specifications may be obtained from the village clerk or building inspector.

    (c)

The subdivider shall assume the cost of installing all sanitary sewer, sewer laterals, and sewer appurtenances within the proposed subdivision, except for the added cost of installing sewers greater than eight inches in diameter which are necessary to serve tributary drainage areas lying outside of the proposed subdivision. In addition, the subdivider shall pay to the village a sanitary sewer trunk line connection fee based on the added cost of installing larger sewers for the total tributary drainage area. Such fee shall be prorated in proportion to the ratio which the total area of the proposed plat is to the total drainage area to be served by such larger sewers.
