§ 2-21. Position established; appointment; term; compensation; duties.

  • (a)

    Pursuant to the provisions of W.S.A., §§ 61.195, 61.197 and 66.01, the village elects not to be governed by those portions of W.SA., §§ 61.19, 61.23 of the statutes relating to the selection and tenure of the clerk and treasurer which are in conflict herewith.

    (b)

    The offices of clerk and treasurer are combined and instead of being elected as provided in W.S.A., § 61.19, the office of clerk/treasurer shall be filled by appointment by the village president with the approval of the majority of the members of the village board.

    (c)

    The said clerk/treasurer shall hold office for an indefinite term, subject to removal bylaw.

    (d)

    Said office shall be a full[-]time position with compensation as determined by the village board.

    (e)

    The clerk/treasurer shall have such duties and powers as described in the job description of appropriate village manual or extended to the position by law.
