§ 82-195. Parking of trailers on streets and public parking areas.

  • (a)

    Parking of trailers detached from motor vehicles is prohibited on all village streets and public parking areas. A trailer is defined as a unit which is not self-propelled unless such vehicle is properly hitched or attached to a motor vehicle pursuant to W.S.A., § 347.47.

    (b)

    This section 82-195 shall not apply to temporary parking of trailers for the purpose of, and while actually engaged in, the loading or unloading of passengers or cargo, provided that the vehicle is attended so that it can be moved in case of emergency or to avoid obstruction of traffic.

    (c)

    This section 82-195 shall not apply to construction or demolition trailers being used for construction or demolition work in the general area. Such trailers are prohibited from being left unattended in excess of 24 hours. Permission for such parking must be granted by the police department. Said trailers shall not exceed eight feet six inches in width and same shall require 36-inch reflective cones posted at each street side trailer corner by day and flashing amber beacons by night.

    (d)

    This section 82-195 shall not apply to trailers owned or used by units of government.
